We are so honoured to have partnered with Environs Kimberley to create our beautiful Bilby enamel pin and to highlight the threats facing these incredible creatures.
With long pinkish-coloured ears and silky soft, blue-grey fur, the Bilby has become Australia’s version of the Easter Bunny. Sadly, unlike the rabbit, Bilby numbers are falling rapidly.
Did you know that the Greater Bilby (Macrotis lagotis) has disappeared from its original home range and that the Kimberley is now its major stronghold?
Bilbies burrows provide shelter for other animals and their foraging increases seed propagation, regenerating land after drought or fire.
Now, their habitat is under threat from fracking for oil and gas.
You can show your support for our Bilby population by purchasing one of our pins, with $1 from each sale, through our online shop, going directly to Environs Kimberley to assist with their campaigns for protecting The Kimberley.
You can find out more about the incredible work being undertaken by Environs Kimberley and how you can get involved by visiting their website: www.environskimberley.org.au
All pins are engraved with the Braw Paper Co. logo on the reverse and are packaged on a beautiful backing card with gold foil text. The Bilby pin is held in place with two clear rubber clutches to keep it safely attached to your favourite jacket, backpack, or tee and so as not to scratch if worn next to the skin.
The Bilby pin measures approx. 4.5cm in width. Pins are made of brass with a polished enamel glossy finish.
